Trondheim: A Hub of Academic Excellence
Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU)
NTNU is Norway’s largest university and a global leader in technology and natural sciences. With its main campuses located in Trondheim, NTNU offers a wide array of programs in engineering, natural sciences, architecture, medicine, social sciences, and humanities. The Gløshaugen campus is particularly renowned for engineering and technology, while Dragvoll focuses on social sciences and humanities.
BI Norwegian Business School – Trondheim Campus
BI offers specialized business and management programs. Its Trondheim campus provides part-time bachelor’s and master’s degrees designed for working professionals.
DMMH – Queen Maud University College of Early Childhood Education
DMMH specializes in early childhood teacher education, offering bachelor's and master's programs with a focus on child development and pedagogical practices.

Melhus and Midtre Gauldal: Facilitating Regional Education
Studiesenter Trøndelag Sør (NO)
Studiesenter Trøndelag Sør in Melhus provides access to decentralized higher education programs in collaboration with universities and colleges, allowing students to pursue degrees without relocating.
Orkland, Skaun, Malvik and Indre Fosen
Currently, these municipalities do not host standalone higher education institutions. However, their proximity to Trondheim and the rest of the region allows residents to access a wide range of academic programs at NTNU, BI, DMMH, and other institutions.
